Kate graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and is currently engaged in fashion and product design at a well-known designer brand. Always eager for a challenge, she participated in numerous fashion design competitions during her studies while also working as a freelance designer and stylist to refine her skills and gain hands-on experience. These early experiences pushed her to explore various approaches to design and better understand her personal style. To Kate, design is a process of self-discovery, with her aesthetic evolving alongside her life experiences. Fashion, to her, is a medium for expressing her thoughts and telling her story.
Her inspiration for this collection stems from snow monsters—mythical beings as pure and mysterious as snowflakes, dwelling deep within snow-covered forests. “Nature is the best designer.” Through this series, she hopes to prompt reflection on the connection between humans and the natural world. Even as society moves towards a highly technological future, she encourages us not to forget nature’s gifts. Using natural materials like wool, she mimics the unusual textures and furry appearance of these legendary creatures. The collection highlights the plush, fur-like qualities of wool and explores alternative textures to replace traditional fur.
